KZN | Durban's homeless relocation plan slammed
Durban’s growing problem of homeless people has come under the spotlight after residents in the city centre vowed to force the homeless out of public parks and other areas. The eThekwini Municipality intends to tackle the problem by building a facility which can house a thousand homeless people outside the city. But help organisations in Durban have criticised this plan, saying it won’t solve the problem and that the municipality is merely dumping homeless people under the banner of cleaning up the city.
