Leading evidence expected in Luthuli inquest
The inquest into the death of ANC leader, Inkosi Albert Luthuli, is expected to start leading evidence from experts about the injuries Luthuli sustained, and whether it corresponds with the 1967 finding that he was struck by a train.
The evidence leaders will be asking the reopened inquest, sitting in the Pietermaritzburg High Court, to overturn the finding 57 years ago that Luthuli’s death was accidental.
Up to this point political leaders, relatives and acquaintances testified about Luthuli’s character, work, and political persecution.
