Reform UK’s first mayor has called for migrants to be housed in tents, not hotels, saying “tents are good enough for France.”
Dame Andrea Jenkyns made the remark in her victory speech after being elected Greater Lincolnshire mayor, calling for an end to “soft touch Britain.”
The ex-Tory MP, who joined Reform last year, also claimed she was targeted by a smear campaign during the race.
Her win followed Reform’s narrow by-election victory in Runcorn and Helsby.
