Liberal Party urged to ‘revisit’ nuclear energy policy
Liberal Senator Dave Sharma says the Coalition should “review and revisit” the policies it took to the election, especially nuclear power.
The Liberal Party’s leadership race could be decided by just one or two votes as shadow treasurer Angus Taylor and deputy leader Sussan Ley prepare to go head-to-head.
“It doesn’t mean we are going to dump them all, but it also doesn’t mean we automatically keep them,” Mr Sharma told Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell.
“My view is that the public is not hostile to nuclear power generation, but the concern they have is … how will it be paid for and funded, and what will the cost be.”
