‘Maybe we’re scoring it the wrong way’: Albanese and Dutton’s third debate analysed
Former Labor defence minister Joel Fitzgibbon comments on the third debate between Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Opposition Leader Peter Dutton, questioning whether it is being scored “the wrong way”.
“it was very, very close … maybe we’re scoring it the wrong way – I mean Albanese only needed to play safe, we’re at the last five minutes in the game now, and Albo’s, you know, eight points in front,” Mr Fitzgibbon said.
“Peter, of course, has to be more innovative, more exciting. He needs to try a few things, and I think he did that well last night, too … there were no big mistakes from either of them.
“I don’t think these debates count for much unless someone makes a big mistake.”
