Meghan Markle Accused Of Copying UK Author For Netflix Show | Rupert Bell
Meghan Markle is facing plagiarism claims over her cancelled Netflix kids show Pearl. British author Mel Elliott says the show is very similar to her Pearl Power books, which began in 2014. Meghan was set to executive produce the series, but it was scrapped less than a year after its 2021 announcement.
Elliott says she sent legal letters to Netflix and Meghan’s company, Archewell, but got no response. She claims the similarities are “too striking” to ignore.
This isn’t the first time Meghan has faced copycat accusations, as fans recently noted resemblances between her cookery show and Pamela Anderson’s, and her lifestyle brand’s logo was compared to a Spanish town’s emblem.
