Muranga Catholic Bishop Wainaina rejects KSH. 50,000 gift from Kirinyaga MCAs
Bishop Maria Wainaina of the catholic diocese of Murang’a has rejected a 50,000 shillings gift from the Kirinyaga county assembly, for leading them in these years annual thanksgiving service, as the church steps up its vigilance on accepting monetary donations from the political class. Wainaina in the same breadth refused a goat bought for him by the MCA’s and directed them to instead forward the gifts to the Kerugoya school for the deaf, as part of community service to the people who elected them to office.
