‘National disgrace’: Matt Canavan calls for Bruce Highway fix-up
Nationals Senator Matt Canavan says the state of the Bruce Highway in Queensland is a “national disgrace” and has called for its upgrade.
Mr Canavan on Friday confirmed he will run for Nationals leader when the party room meets on Monday in Canberra amid Jacinta Price’s defection to the Liberals.
“Why don’t we just fix that? I don’t know about climate change but I think we should … focus on making people’s lives better in a practical sense,” Mr Canavan said.
