Nationals have ‘huge opportunity’ to sell themselves across the country
Queensland Senator Matt Canavan says the next few years could be the “most exciting yet” for the Nationals.
Mr Canavan on Friday confirmed he will run for the Nationals leader when the party room meets on Monday in Canberra amid Jacinta Nampijinpa Price’s defection to the Liberals.
“We have a huge opportunity to sell ourselves in more areas around the country,” Mr Canavan said.
“We already know, given the results in recent elections, that we are very good at running local issues and campaigns – being in touch with our local communities.”
