Nature Conservation | Battle to save Kruger National Park's vultures
Continued poaching of vultures in South Africa will lead to increased disease transmission to wildlife and humans, according to wildlife experts and those working to conserve the endangered species.
In a recent case, 116 vultures were killed after eating an elephant carcass laced with poison at the Kruger National Park last week.
Over 80 vultures that survived the poisoning are being rehabilitated at Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre in Hoedspruit, Limpopo.
