New Israel-Gaza ceasefire deal proposed
Egyptian and Qatari mediators have proposed a new ceasefire plan for Israel and Hamas that could last up to seven years.
A Palestinian official has told the BBC the deal would require a permanent end to the war and a complete Israeli withdrawal from Gaza.
It would also stipulate the release of all Israeli hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails.
