New theme park will be 'transformative for UK,' says Universal CEO
Chair and Chief Executive Officer of Universal Destinations & Experiences Mark Woodbury says he is “super excited” at the news that a deal for a new Universal theme park in Bedfordshire has been confirmed
It will be the first Universal-branded theme park and resort in Europe and is set to open in 2031.
Mr Woodbury says this will be “transformative on so many levels”, and would be a “job creation machine”, as it’s estimated to bring £50bn into the British economy and create about 28,000 jobs.
During the process, he says the relationship with the government has been “seamless” and that Labour have been “very supportive” with getting the deal through.
