“Nigel Farage Is Starting A WAR On Families” Says Labour MP Stella Creasy
MPs are set to vote this summer on whether to decriminalise abortion in England and Wales, with Labour MPs Stella Creasy and Tonia Antoniazzi planning separate amendments to Government legislation.
Abortion has been legal under the 1967 Act for up to 24 weeks, or later in special cases, but inducing a miscarriage outside these rules remains a crime punishable by life in prison.
Recent figures show a rise in abortion-related prosecutions, with 13 people charged in 2022 and at least 11 arrests in 2023.
Peter Cardwell speaks with Stella Creasy MP on the topic as well as the results of recent local elections.
