Boitumelo Plaatje has been recognized for her contribution as a health practitioner. Plaatje was a retired health practitioner and a social activist. She is the former wife of the former North West Premier Popo Molefe. She was also the great grand-niece of intellectual, politician and writer Sol Plaatje. Plaatjie also served as the secretary of the electrons in the African National Congress Women’s League.
