North West | Job seekers are discouraged
The rate of unemployment is reaching crisis levels in the North West. This as the province continues to have more unemployed than working. Statistics South Africa’s latest Quarterly Labour Force Survey for the first quarter of 2025, has revealed that the official unemployment rate in North West has jumped to 40.4%. With the expanded definition which includes discouraged job seekers, the unemployment rate in the province is at 56%.
