NPA granted preservation order to attach Mpambani properties
The National Prosecuting Authority’s asset forfeiture unit has been granted a preservation order to attach six properties valued at R32 million. NPA says the order includes a Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG, purchased cash for R2 million allegedly with proceeds of crime linked to the Free State asbestos corruption and money laundering case. The assets belong to the slain Ignatius Igo Mpambani, his wife Michele Mpambani and their entities as well as co-accused Sello Radebe. The trial within a trial to challenge the court’s jurisdiction on Moroadi Cholota continues in the Free State High Court.
