One Nation Senator Malcolm Roberts on voter mood ahead of election
One Nation Senator for Queensland Malcolm Roberts has discussed the mood of voters in Pimpama on the Gold Coast with the federal election less than two weeks away.
Speaking to Sky News Australia, Mr Roberts highlighted the growing support for his party but also acknowledged the frustration many Australians are feeling in the lead-up to the election.
“There are several things I’m picking up. One of them is very strong support for One Nation, they love what we’re doing. They love our policies,” he said.
However, he also noted the widespread dissatisfaction among voters, particularly those grappling with cost-of-living pressures.
“But people are doing it tough, and they’re very disgruntled. People are really being squeezed by cost-of-living pressures. Life in Australia is becoming unaffordable.
“They see no answer in either Peter Dutton or Anthony Albanese. No answer. Many of them are saying to hell with it; it’s not worth voting in this country anymore.
“So, that’s the mood. Anger, apathy, disgruntlement and some excitement for One Nation.”
