Parliament Budget Office says funds may be insufficient to address backlogs
Parliament’s Budget Office (PBO) has questioned how, with the current budget, backlogs across departments and sectors in South Africa can be addressed.
Briefing the Select Committee on Appropriations today, the PBO did an analysis of the 2025 Division of Revenue.
The Division of Revenue Bill needs to be passed within 35 days of the Fiscal Framework and Revenue Proposals being adopted by the National Assembly.
Once enacted, this legislation ensures that each level of government receives an equitable share of the budget.
