Penny Wong calls for ‘ceasefire’ as Israel approves plans to capture Gaza
Foreign Minister Penny Wong discusses Israel’s approval of plans to capture Gaza in hopes that the hostages are returned.
“My principled response is that Australia continues to call for a ceasefire,” Ms Wong said.
“We want to see the hostages returned and we wanted to see humanitarian aid delivered; the humanitarian situation in Gaza is catastrophic.
“We will continue to call on all parties; ceasefire, hostage returns and humanitarian aid to be delivered.”
