Poor sanitation in North West schools remain a cause of concern
Some parents in the North West have criticised the provincial Education Department for failing to provide proper sanitation at some schools in the province.
The National Education Department had set a deadline of March 31st, 2025, to eradicate pit toilets in public schools.
However, learners at Ramaina A Phetlhu Secondary School in Magogoe village in Mahikeng still rely on unsafe facilities.
Stats SA’s non-financial municipal census report revealed that the province recorded an overall increase in bucket toilets for the 2022/2023 financial year.
SABC News reporter Thabang Morutloa and video journalist Jabu oa Afrika compiled this report.
