President Ramaphosa honours Adv. Duma Nokwe
President Cyril Ramaphosa honoured the late struggle veteran and human rights lawyer, Advocate Duma Nokwe with the posthumous conferral of the honorary title of Senior Counsel for the Republic of South Africa.
Speakers hailed Nokwe for his formidable mind in the process of re-imagining South Africa’s post-apartheid future.
Nokwe was re-buried alongside his wife, Vuyiswa at the West Park Cemetery in Johannesburg.
The Nokwe family has urged South Africans to recommit themselves to carrying out the country’s vision and leadership, in memory of the late Adv Duma Nokwe.
Nokwe, a former anti-apartheid activist and ANC secretary-general, passed away in exile in 1978 but was repatriated back to South Africa last year.
He was reburied today in a Special Provincial Official Funeral.
