Putin agrees with Trump to work with Ukraine on peace proposal
United States President Donald Trump said he made progress on Monday during his call with Russia’s President Vladimir Putin.
Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump discussed what the U.S. leader called “impressive” prospects for ties between their two countries in a phone call.
Putin said after the call that Russia would work with Ukraine on a memorandum about a future peace accord. Trump said Russia and Ukraine would immediately start negotiations toward a ceasefire.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Kyiv and its partners were considering arranging a high-level meeting between Ukraine, Russia, the United States, European Union countries and Britain as part of a push to end Moscow’s war in Ukraine.
