Queensland’s ‘adult crime, adult time’ laws are working, data shows
New data appears to show the Queensland government’s ‘adult crime, adult time’ laws are working.
The Courier Mail reports the number of children who commit one of 13 serious offences covered by the policy has dropped by more than 30 per cent.
Around 1,300 cases were recorded between December and March.
That’s down by approximately 750 cases compared to the same period the previous year.
The laws introduced by Premier David Crisafulli came into effect in December 2024.
