Revised budget to be tabled on 21 May
Addressing members of the media on the new budget to be tabled on the 21st of May.
ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula has again distanced his party from the failed VAT hike.
He says the ANC will make inputs into the budgeting process that encourage pro-poor spending, entrepreneurial opportunity and employment creation.
Mbalula added that the party wants to see more consumer goods being exempt from value-added tax.
He also committed the ANC to engage members of the GNU, to mobilise support for the revised fiscal framework.
