Russia plans World War II tribute amid conflict
Russia is finalising plans to mark the 80th anniversary of the Soviet Union’s victory over Nazi Germany in 1945. Twenty-nine world leaders are expected to attend commemorations in Moscow.
President Vladimir Putin has proposed a three-day ceasefire from May 8 to 10. Meanwhile, Russia has accused Ukraine of escalating attacks and carrying out what it calls terrorist acts, as drone strikes increasingly target Moscow.
