* The DA and EFF court challenge on the proposed 50 basis point VAT hike is currently being heard in the Western Cape High Court.
The DA is arguing that the tax hike will intensify South Africa’s cost of living crisis.
The VAT increase is set to come into effect on May the 1st.
* Former minister Jeff Radebe has provided some insight into how instrumental former ANC President Albert Luthuli was to the ANC and uMkhonto weSizwe.
Radebe was testifing at the inquest into Luthuli’s death.
* The funeral for Pope Francis will take place at St Peter’s Basilica in Rome on Saturday – after the service, in a break with tradition his body will be taken to St Mary Major where he’ll be buried in accordance with his wishes.
* SASCOC, Netball South Africa, and the Sport’s department have refused to discuss the merits of the suspension of Netball South Africa President, Cecilia Molokwane.
She was suspended by the sport’s world governing body, at the weekend.
