SARS urges vendors to maintain 15% VAT rate
The Western Cape High Court has suspended a 0.5% VAT increase set for May 1, 2025, after a challenge by the DA and EFF. SARS Commissioner Edward Kieswetter has welcomed the ruling, urging vendors and consumers to maintain the 15% VAT rate. Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana withdrew the hike last week, with the court ratifying the decision on April 27, 2025.
