A two-day seminar themed “Chinese modernization and the well-being of compatriots across the Taiwan Straits” has brought together more than 160 renowned experts, scholars and representatives from various sectors across the Taiwan Straits to discuss future development. At the opening ceremony of the 2025 Cross-Straits Relations Seminar in Shanghai on May 10, Qiu Kaiming, Deputy Director of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, stated that Chinese modernization is for all Chinese people, “including our compatriots in Taiwan.”
