Shanghai clothing plant ramps up production as China-U.S. tariff tensions ease
A clothing factory in Shanghai’s Songjiang District has resumed operations after the easing of China-U.S. tariff tensions. The two countries agreed in Geneva to cut tariffs for 90 days, with the move taking effect on May 14. The factory had halted production following April’s U.S. tariff hike but received urgent orders from American clients Tuesday night, allowing it to ship 50,000 delayed garments.
