The Start of Summer, or “Lixia,” is the seventh solar term in the traditional Chinese calendar. This year, it falls on May 5. With lots of fun and games like traditional egg fighting – in which kids carry hard-boiled eggs and take turns tapping them against one another – it’s a day children especially look forward to.
