Sobukwe's prison release is commemorated
May 13th is remembered as a day former Minister of Justice Jimmy Kruger announced the release of political stalwart Robert Mangaliso Sobukwe from detention. As part of remembering the day, as well as Sobukwe’s contribution to the fight against the apartheid government, the Galeshewe Youth Network and a Kimberley-based company, Native Minds, are running a campaign to honour the him. The organiser says the campaign is also preparation for Sobukwe’s centenary in December.
