South Sudan | Over 80 000 people displaced: Nicholas Haysom
The head of the UN Mission to South Sudan has told the Security Council that all their efforts are now focused on preventing a relapse into widespread conflict and refocusing attention on the implementation of the Revitalized Peace Agreement. The 2018 agreement sought to end the country’s bloody civil war and usher in a transitional period towards elections in 2024 which have since been postponed until December 2026.
