Spanish leaders rule out cyberattack, excess renewable supply as causes of blackout
Spanish electricity grid operator said on Tuesday its preliminary assessment had ruled out a cyberattack as the cause of a nationwide power outage that hit most of Spain and Portugal on Monday
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez also ruled out the possibility that an excess of electricity generated by renewable sources caused the massive power blackout.
Sanchez told reporters that technicians were still attempting to find the precise cause of the collapse, and the results of their inquiries would be used to reinforce the system.
