Sycamore Gap: The Moronic Mission | ITV News
Daniel Graham and Adam Carruthers were found guilty of felling the world-famous Sycamore Gap tree.
Daniel Graham described his relationship with Adam Carruthers as “Best of pals” around the time of September 2023, when the tree was cut down.
But their roles in felling the famous tree would sour that friendship, and the “spectacular” fallout would later play out in court, where both of them were found guilty of two counts of criminal damage – one to the tree itself, the other to Hadrian’s Wall.
They are due to be sentenced on 15 July.
ITV News Correspondent Tom Barton reveals the case to convict the two men who cut down the iconic tree, known for featuring in the film Robin Hood Prince of Thieves. Plus he hears from people whose biggest life events have involved the famous tree.
