President Bola Tinubu and First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, have congratulated Nigerian workers as the country joins the global community in marking this year’s Workers’ Day.
In a statement released Thursday, President Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to prioritising workers’ welfare.
He also promised continued collaboration with labour to drive national development. Marking the day on his official X handle, the President described Nigerian workers as the engine of the economy and the secret to the nation’s growth.
Meanwhile, the First Lady saluted the resilience of Nigerian workers, calling them the backbone of national development and a vital force behind Nigeria’s progress.
Following the ongoing dispute in Kano around the emirship specifically the contention between Aminu Ado Bayero and Muhammadu Sanusi II, both of whom have held the title of Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero made a public appearance as the Royal Father of the Day at a Quranic graduation ceremony.
The event took place on May 1, 2025, at an Islamiyya school located in Kwalli Quarters, Kano Municipal.
During his address, the Emir expressed joy over being part of the event and praised the unity and happiness he witnessed among the people.
He prayed for continued peace, protection of dignity, and the preservation of faith within the community.
In a video now making rounds on social media, thousands of people gathered to warmly welcome and celebrate the Emir’s presence at the occasion.
A Nigerian woman, named Nemi has raised the alarm over the disappearance of her husband, Angel Odumodu, who went missing on April 29 after traveling from Port Harcourt to attend events in Owerri and Nnewi.
According to her posts on X, their last communication was at 10:50 a.m., when he said he was en route back to Port Harcourt. Since then, efforts to reach him have failed.
The case has been reported to the police as the family pleads for public assistance.
