Trans rights activists unfurl mammoth transgender flag on Yosemite’s El Capitan ⛰
A coalition of transgender rights activists scaled the ancient El Capitan granite rock formation in Mariposa County, Cali. on Tuesday to hang the 55-foot-wide trans flag. Joining the Trans is Natural group, famed drag queen Pattie Gonia partook in the unfurling, later offering comment on the act of protest against U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration, which only recognizes two unchangeable sexes, male and female, and has rolled back orders mitigating discrimination against the LGBTQ2+ community. “Some carry hate. We carry the largest trans pride flag to ever be flown in a national park,” Gonia said. The mammoth banner has since been removed. #TransRights #LGBTQ #ElCapitan
