Trump admin adds migrants' mugshots to the White House lawn
The Trump admin added about 100 posters to the White House lawn of what they say are unauthorized immigrants who have been arrested for violent crime — directly behind where TV correspondents do their live shots.
The posters, each with a large photo of a migrant with a caption noting the crime the White House alleges they committed, come as the Trump administration highlights its border policies as a key accomplishment of Trump’s first 100 days in office.
The White House has not provided any information to support their claims that these are criminals who have been arrested.
On #MorningJoe, Maria Teresa Kumar urged caution, warning that some past images promoted by officials were found to be altered:
“Our job is always to have our true north,” she said, calling on journalists to blur the images and ensure “we are presenting balanced news.”
