Trump says Houthis have 'capitulated' - and teases another 'big announcement' this week
Donald Trump has told reporters Yemen’s Houthis have “capitulated” to the US and have agreed to stop attacking ships.
The US president said the US would halt all strikes on the group immediately.
The Houthis began attacking western shipping when Israel launched its military operation in Gaza.
It has also regularly targeted Israel with missile and drone strikes.
The announcement came as Mr Trump met with Canada’s Prime Minister Mark Carney.
