Russia and Ukraine have agreed to exchange 1,000 prisoners of war after their first direct peace talks in Istanbul since 2022.
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan announced both sides are open to further negotiations for a ceasefire.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that Ukraine’s priority is “a full, unconditional, and honest ceasefire,” deeming Russia’s demands unacceptable.
