Ukrainian soldiers expect Russia to keep attacking during peace talks: "Enemy is not going to stop"
While Russian and Ukrainian officials met in Turkey for direct peace talks, Ukrainian frontline soldiers ran for cover after Russian strikes targeted areas near their positions in Eastern Ukraine.
Russian forces took control of the town of Mykhailivka, in Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk region, the Defence Ministry said on Wednesday. They released a video showing Russian forces raising the Russian flag in the settlement of Mykhailivka in Eastern Ukraine.
“We share an opinion that at the moment peace is not possible,” said Ukrainian Soldier Roman. “We are certain that the enemy is not going to stop.”
Another member of the same unit, Serhii, said when asked if he saw a prospect of a ceasefire: “No hope because there was a lot of conversation before. No results. The same situation.”
