Unemployment reaches 32,9%
More people are unemployed in South Africa compared to the fourth quarter last year.
Stats SA data shows the official unemployment rate increased by 1 percentage from 31,9% in the fourth quarter of last year to 32,9% in the first quarter of this year.
The expanded unemployment rate – including those that have given up looking for work – has gone up by 1.2 percentage points to 43,1% in the first quarter.
