The US and China have agreed to slash reciprocal tariffs on each other’s products by 115 per cent for 90 days, after talks between US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng in Geneva. US President Donald Trump confirmed the temporary deal and floated a conversation with Chinese leader Xi Jinping at the end of the week.
