US President Donald Trump departs Middle East after trade deals | BBC News
US President Donald Trump has left the United Arab Emirates after the final stop of his whirlwind tour of the Middle East.
Trump on Thursday pledged to strengthen US ties to the UAE and announced deals with the Gulf state totalling over $200 billion.
But the US president has been criticised inside the US for indicating that he would accept a luxury jet, worth $400m, from the Qatari royal family.
The White House says that the new plane – which could require years and millions of dollars to refit and upgrade – will be transferred to Trump’s presidential library at the end of his term.
