The latest from the ITV News Meridian team – and a special programme as the little ships return to Dunkirk 85 years on. On the evening show:
Presenter Matt Teale goes on board one of the 70 little ships that left Ramsgate early in the morning to recreate the journey – and extraordinary rescue mission – carried out in 1940.
We report from deep beneath the ground at Dover Castle where Operation Dynamo was masterminded. It was a seemingly impossible mission – led by Vice Admiral Sir Bertram Ramsey.
And, we meet 108-year-old Harry Waddingham from Sussex – a Royal Navy veteran – and one of the many heroes of Dunkirk.
