A Chicago man has been charged with murder after an Israeli couple, who worked at the embassy in Washington DC, were shot dead outside a Jewish museum in the city.
Elias Rodriguez, 31, was charged on Thursday with murder of federal officials and other crimes by the US Justice Department.
The Israeli embassy named the diplomats as Yaron Lichinsky and Sarah Milgrim and said it was “heartbroken and devastated” – the couple were due to get engaged in Jerusalem next week.
