‘We have equality’: Linda Burney’s post defending Welcome to Country questioned
Sky News host James Macpherson discusses former Indigenous Affairs minister Linda Burney’s recent post defending the Welcome to Country acknowledgement.
“Former minister for Indigenous Affairs Linda Burney has given an impassioned defence of Welcome to Country after the ceremony got a mixed reaction over the Anzac Day weekend,” Mr Macpherson said.
“I thought it was a simple acknowledgement … I never realised when we are doing a Welcome to Country, and when we are listening to it, we are agreeing Indigenous people are still struggling for equality in this country.”
