"Who Are These People?" Security Minister Refuses To Disclose Immigration Status Of Iranian Suspects
Three men arrested by counter-terror police are the first Iranian nationals to be detained under the National Security Act, the security minister has said.
Dan Jarvis told the Commons two operations that took place on Saturday were some of the “largest counter state threats and counter-terrorism actions we have seen in recent times”.
In a statement to MPs, he said it would not be appropriate for the Government to “speculate on or comment further” on the motivations behind the cases that led to the arrests of a number of Iranian nationals.
The minister also refused to give details on the immigration status of the suspects when pressed by several MPs.
