China’s holiday economy has kicked in despite U.S. tariffs, with record Labor Day spending showing consumer resilience. John Quelch, the executive vice chancellor of Duke Kunshan University, said the Chinese appetite for vacation experiences is doing wonders. “The Chinese are learning to work to live,” he added, saying that despite current global uncertainties, China has remained steadfast in pursuing its own strategies toward growth and development.
