Wildlife trafficking | Massive cost of tiny creatures heists
The global demand for small wildlife, including ants, spiders and scorpions, is increasing. Just this week, a group called the ‘Ant Gang’ were sentenced to a year in prison for smuggling ants out of Kenya. They were found with over 5,000 Harvester queen ants, valued at over $200 each. But, poaching small wildlife can devastate existing ecosystems and introduce invasive species into new ones. #dstv403
