As the media fraternity celebrates World Press Freedom Day, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights has called for the protection of media practitioners, especially in conflict zones. Many journalists have been killed in-line of duty around the world where there are conflicts or wars. The High Commissioner says the media plays an important role and helps society to understand the world around them.
